Twin Tales: Alike and Different by Brielle and Nadia Dupervil {Children’s Book Review}

November 8, 2021 by Leila | Leave a Comment

I know first hand how ‘alike and different’ twins can be, whether they look alike or not! Keep reading to see what I thought of Twin Tales.

Disclosure: I received this book to review through iRead Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Twin Tales: Alike and Different by Brielle and Nadia Dupervil {Children's Book Review}

Imagine having someone that is just like you in the world. Or what if there were not just like you, but everyone thought they were? Twin sisters Alexia and Denise might look alike on the outside, but they are very different on the inside. Join the sisters as they reveal what makes them unique. An enduring story of siblings who share a strong bond that parents will appreciate, and children will love.

Having younger sisters who are twins (but do not look alike) and hubby’s family having cousins that are twins (and do look alike), I was excited to read Twin Tales.

I know first hand how different twins can be even when they look alike or dress alike.

Unlike Alexia and Denise, my little sisters do not look alike, but my mom did dress them alike often. They are definitely two very different people even though they are twins. One is more quiet and reserved, while the other is outgoing. One is pale skinned while her twin is very tan all the time. We say one takes after our mom’s side of the family, while the other takes after her dad’s side of the family.

My “cousin in-laws” looked very much alike when they were younger and still as adults, look alike. If they are together, I can tell them apart, but when they are separate, I still struggle. Yet, they are both different in their own ways. One is more ‘corporate’ and ‘professional’ in my opinion, while the other tends to be more ‘rugged’ and ‘outdoorsy’. Yet, they were born in the same year, on the same date.

I love that Alexia and Denise were able to share how they are alike in ways other than looking alike, but also sharing how they are different! There may be a lot of similarities, but it’s important for people to remember that twins are individual people too and not everything about them in alike!

I will definitely be sharing this book with my 8 year old! The story is cute and the illustrations are adorable!

Came home the other day and saw an envelope that s Came home the other day and saw an envelope that said "happy birthday". I got excited that someone sent me an early birthday card...

...except it wasn't for me. It was for Gibbs, our husky... who's birthday is 3 days before mine.

Guess that's what happens when you share your birthday week with the dog. 🤷‍♀️
I personally haven't seen this guy in about a week I personally haven't seen this guy in about a week, but thankfully, hubby saw him yesterday and snapped a pic for me. I swear; Bear gives the cresties a run for their money when it comes to hide and seek!! 🤣
The newest zoo member... not *exactly* what I was The newest zoo member... not *exactly* what I was looking for color wise (I was looking for a gray/lavender, and they seem more red), but I am def smitten. 🥰

This baby is a little spazzy at first but then loves to just chill and sit with me. They aren't quite as jumpy as Aspen (and def friendlier! Aspen still HATES being touched!)

Also, I'm not sure they were well cared for. Breeder said hatch date was 9-8-2022, but they are tiny! Not even the length of my pointer finger!

Anyway, welcome, Leif (pronounced Leaf; thank you, Kadenn...) to the zoo!
Releasing tomorrow!! 😍 I cannot wait!! Releasing tomorrow!! 😍

I cannot wait!!
Pics do not do this baby justice!! And Schuyler i Pics do not do this baby justice!!

And Schuyler is so much more chill than Aspen. I've been able to at least touch them daily and last night, they let me hold them!! HUGE difference from Aspen the spaz who wants no one in her space, none the less touching her! 🤣🤣
