Purple Turtle Graded Readers Boxed Sets (Level 1) {Book Review}

November 24, 2017 by Leila | Leave a Comment

Disclosure: I received a Level 1 box set for free in exchange for my honest review.

Purple Turtle Graded Readers Boxed Sets (Levels 1, 2 and 3) {Book Review}A1 Edutainment takes you to the world on an amazing new reading programme with Purple Turtle. The first level of Purple Turtle Graded Readers includes a set of 12 books with interesting stories and activities and 150 word count. This level is exclusively for learners who have just started reading. It is based on ATOS and Lexile reading level system.

Purple Turtle is the world’s ‘cutest’ turtle. Purple Turtle started as a children’s book imprint of Aadarsh Pvt. Ltd. and was transformed to a gender neutral character for kids books, story books, colouring books, stencil books, activity books, puzzle books, dot to dot books, notebooks and games for children.

Addy is 4 so she isn’t quite to the reading level, but she will be within the next year. This is the perfect set for the beginning reader.

We got the Level 1 because I had Addy in mind.

There are 12 books in the set – all hard cover – with bright pictured illustrations and mostly easy to read words (some of the books had a couple uncommon words, but they weren’t huge words that would be complicated for a beginning reader, in my opinion.)

While Addy cannot read yet, we have had fun reading about Purple together, familiarizing her with the stories.

Within the next year, as she prepares for Kindergarten, these will make great learning materials to help us teach her to read the simple words. I think I may even share these with her Kindergarten teacher because they really are a great set of books for the learning reader!
