Monsterland Reanimated by Michael Okon {Young Adult Book Review}

February 13, 2020 by Leila | 2 Comments

Monsterland Reanimated wastes no time in getting you to the edge of your seat with suspense!

Disclosure: I received this book to review through iRead Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Monsterland Reanimated by Michael Okon {Young Adult Book Review}After Monsterland has imploded, the entire world is thrown into chaos.

World leadership is gone, economies have collapsed, and communications are non-existent. Wyatt must go beyond the boundaries of his small town to reestablish contact with the outside world, and alert the government about a traitor-in-chief.

During his journey he discovers a new threat released from the bowels of the defunct theme park. When an army of relentless mummies, a life-sucking ooze called The Glob, and a hybrid reanimated Behemoth rise from the depths of Monsterland, who will survive?

Leels Loves Books Book Reviews

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first book, Monsterland and was excited to see where this second book would take us.

In the first book (you could probably get away with reading the second book without the first although I don’t recommend it), the suspense and thrill was towards the end of the book. Monsterland Reanimated jumps in pretty quickly to edge of your seat suspense.

The story line picks up essentially where the first book left off with only a few weeks passing since the first book ended.

It sort of felt like a cross between The Walking Dead, Twilight and Frankenstein – all wrapped up into one story that had my anxiety level soaring.

In short – without giving away anything from the first or second book – the world is in complete chaos with no one in control. It’s “every man for themselves”.

There was definitely some violence, blood and gore… I’m not sure I would recommend it for my readers (ages 11 and 14), but would be okay with the “older” young adult age range. And certainly a good read for adults who like the paranormal, monster fantasy with suspense and thrill.

Short of a full blown anxiety attack, I enjoyed it! It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen. And let me quick add – Michael Okon has one heck of an imagination. Props for two great books!

Came home the other day and saw an envelope that s Came home the other day and saw an envelope that said "happy birthday". I got excited that someone sent me an early birthday card...

...except it wasn't for me. It was for Gibbs, our husky... who's birthday is 3 days before mine.

Guess that's what happens when you share your birthday week with the dog. 🤷‍♀️
I personally haven't seen this guy in about a week I personally haven't seen this guy in about a week, but thankfully, hubby saw him yesterday and snapped a pic for me. I swear; Bear gives the cresties a run for their money when it comes to hide and seek!! 🤣
The newest zoo member... not *exactly* what I was The newest zoo member... not *exactly* what I was looking for color wise (I was looking for a gray/lavender, and they seem more red), but I am def smitten. 🥰

This baby is a little spazzy at first but then loves to just chill and sit with me. They aren't quite as jumpy as Aspen (and def friendlier! Aspen still HATES being touched!)

Also, I'm not sure they were well cared for. Breeder said hatch date was 9-8-2022, but they are tiny! Not even the length of my pointer finger!

Anyway, welcome, Leif (pronounced Leaf; thank you, Kadenn...) to the zoo!
Releasing tomorrow!! 😍 I cannot wait!! Releasing tomorrow!! 😍

I cannot wait!!
Pics do not do this baby justice!! And Schuyler i Pics do not do this baby justice!!

And Schuyler is so much more chill than Aspen. I've been able to at least touch them daily and last night, they let me hold them!! HUGE difference from Aspen the spaz who wants no one in her space, none the less touching her! 🤣🤣
