[show-book title=”David Travels to the Past”]
This is an interesting book. It is set up like a comic book with strips of colorful illustrations and the main characters speaking with speech bubbles.
The book is broken up into 2 sections – The Rock Painters and The Babylonians.
The characters, David and Master Messina, travel back in time where Master Messina teaches David about the people of that era.
I thought the illustrations were great and the characters were fun, but I felt like the book lacked… more educational content. I felt that there was more that could have been added for value. That is not to say that the book isn’t educational, I just felt that it could have used more.
This is a book that I can see my 8 year old son enjoying. It deals with history and is written in a comic book format – two things that he enjoys. While it may not personally be one of my favorites, it was a neat book and I look forward to reading some of the other books they have available. Be sure to check out their website
