[show-book title=”Bloodrealms”]
I loved Bloodmark (book 1 in this series) and was looking forward to Bloodrealms.
Bloodrealms started right where we left on in the first book and I felt it was faster paced than the first one. I will say that this is not a stand alone book. You will be quite lost if you don’t read Bloodmark first. The first book provides many characters, background, and the start of the relationship between Ashling and Grey – something you do not want to miss!
I am not a traditional gal in any sense and with “sides” pitted against “sides” in regards to Ashling’s future; I am easily frustrated. I found that Bloodrealms evoked a lot of emotion within me – something I also felt in the first book in the series and I would not be surprised to find in the third book too.
Bloodrealms was slightly darker and had more violence than Bloodmark but did not change my opinion of the book or the series. This is by far, one of my favorite series this year and definitely ranked at the top of favorite paranormal/fantasy series.
If you enjoy the fantasy/paranormal of werewolves – you will enjoy this series. (It does remind me of Twilight a bit, but there are no vampires. The term ‘bloodsuckers’ in this book does not relate to vampires, but to those who are destined to kill werewolves.)
