Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday by Alysson Foti Bourque {Children’s Book Review}

June 10, 2022 by Leila | Leave a Comment

Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday is a story that children and adults alike can learn from to go with the flow!

Disclosure: I received this book to review through iRead Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday by Alysson Foti Bourque {Children's Book Review}

Alycat wakes up to seafood gumbo for breakfast, and even though her house is the first stop for the school bus, the bus is already full when she boards. Alycat’s whole day is turning topsy-turvy. What is happening? Young readers will tag along on Alycat’s adventures during her very “cattywampus” Wednesday and learn that a little help from some friends and a good attitude can make your day!

The themes of the books in the Alycat Series all reflect a reliance on friendships, imagination, and creativity towards problem solving. The character traits of Alycat and her friends inspire and encourage young readers to find their own special gifts. After enduring a cattywampus world pursuant to an unexpected pandemic, this book will resonate with readers to persevere through the wackiest and toughest of times.

Leels Loves Books Book Reviews

Alycat had a ‘cattywampus’ Wednesday, but never got angry or upset – she kept a happy face the entire time and just went with the flow. Talk about a story that children and adults alike could learn from!

We have read Alycat books before and my 9 year old loves them (and has since she was 4)! I think it’s a combination of Alycat being a cat, stories she can read, and the fun illustrations! All I know is that she was thrilled to get a new Alycat book!

I find the Alycat books easy to read, fun to look at, and has cute little lessons for kids (and in this case, adults) to learn! They are super cute stories that kids enjoy! I mean, who wouldn’t enjoy a cute little kitten doing every day things that our kids do!?

Cattywampus Wednesday is a good reminder that change isn’t bad; that we can learn to go with the flow and everything will be okay!

Came home the other day and saw an envelope that s Came home the other day and saw an envelope that said "happy birthday". I got excited that someone sent me an early birthday card...

...except it wasn't for me. It was for Gibbs, our husky... who's birthday is 3 days before mine.

Guess that's what happens when you share your birthday week with the dog. 🤷‍♀️
I personally haven't seen this guy in about a week I personally haven't seen this guy in about a week, but thankfully, hubby saw him yesterday and snapped a pic for me. I swear; Bear gives the cresties a run for their money when it comes to hide and seek!! 🤣
The newest zoo member... not *exactly* what I was The newest zoo member... not *exactly* what I was looking for color wise (I was looking for a gray/lavender, and they seem more red), but I am def smitten. 🥰

This baby is a little spazzy at first but then loves to just chill and sit with me. They aren't quite as jumpy as Aspen (and def friendlier! Aspen still HATES being touched!)

Also, I'm not sure they were well cared for. Breeder said hatch date was 9-8-2022, but they are tiny! Not even the length of my pointer finger!

Anyway, welcome, Leif (pronounced Leaf; thank you, Kadenn...) to the zoo!
Releasing tomorrow!! 😍 I cannot wait!! Releasing tomorrow!! 😍

I cannot wait!!
Pics do not do this baby justice!! And Schuyler i Pics do not do this baby justice!!

And Schuyler is so much more chill than Aspen. I've been able to at least touch them daily and last night, they let me hold them!! HUGE difference from Aspen the spaz who wants no one in her space, none the less touching her! 🤣🤣
